Local photography with an international flair
Pigpen studio is the home of Sandyprints. After many years of squeezing her photography into any room in the house, Sandy now has a dedicated gallery space. It took a lot of work renovating the old pigpen into a studio space. Although its not perfect all year round, its a start and guests can browse Sandy's pictures either printed , hung on the wall, in folders or on a laptop.
Locations include Australia, Austria, Cumbria, Toronto, Bahrain, Venice and West Wales.
Sandy gained two distinctions with the Royal Photographic Society and in doing so built up an large collection of gliding/Sailplane pictures.
The sport of gliding is David's passion and its the hobby that first brought David and Sandy together, when they were young and learning to glide at the same club. Many years later they took flight together and soared the countryside, giving Sandy lots of opportunities to capture the countryside from the air.
Sandy has owned a camera since she was 10 years old and although at first it was just a means of recording friends and family events, as time went by Sandy found herself shooting more and more landscapes and flora and fauna. Making the jump to digital a few years ago, was a step that opened up much more freedom for Sandy to shoot and control the end results. Soon after changing to digital Sandy was able to gain her second distinction withe the RPS.
Sandy spent many years living in rural Cumbria and whilst there was able to market her pictures as cards and framed prints to locals and tourists alike. Now living here in West Wales the opportunity to, not only run a small bed and breakfast, but also own a building suitable for a studio is her dream come true.
